For users
Getting started
Log in to DDRapp, understand roles, and prepare projects and datasets.
- Open your institution’s DDRapp instance, for example ddr.tul.cz or the public instance.
- Sign in with e-INFRA CZ and choose your home institution in the eduID.cz selection.
- On first login, your account is created in a trial or guest state, unless your institution provisions accounts in advance. Ask your tenant administrator to assign you to your department and role.
Roles
| Role | Typical person | Can |
|---|---|---|
| Researcher | Scientist, student | See and use the datasets assigned to them; browse and share data in Explorer |
| Operator | Instrument operator | Run measurements on the instruments they operate |
| Manager | Lab or facility manager | Manage instruments, datasets and users of their unit |
| Tenant admin | Institute data manager | Administer the whole tenant: departments, users, storage and Airflow settings |
| Multi-tenant admin / viewer | Instance operators | Administer or audit all tenants |
Key concepts
- Resource: a project. It is usually loaded from your institution’s CRIS by its internal number, and becomes the S3 bucket for its data.
- Dataset: a group of measurements within a resource, for example a sample series.
- Experiment (measurement): a single run on an instrument. It has its own folder on the instrument PC and in storage.
- Instrument: a registered device with its PC, responsible people and logbook.
One-time preparation per project
- Create or select the resource: load it from CRIS by its internal number, or create it.
- Create a dataset within the resource and fill in its metadata.
- Make sure the instrument you will use is registered and connected; ask your manager if unsure.
Then you are ready to record measurements.
More detail is in the official DDRapp user guide.
